The first time I saw them talking about this on ESPN I was like "THIS IS FROM VARSITY BLUES!!! DOES NOBODY REALIZE THAT??!!??" Glad someone else does.

If a guy shouts a movie quote during a motivational speech at halftime, I laugh rather than get motivated. I'd be thinking "isn't there anything original you could come up with you moron?"

I'm sure they have too ... and I'm also sure that a teenage Tebow watched 'Varsity Blues' a thousand times as a youngster and was absolutely channeling his inner Coach Kilmer.

Tebow is a typical, unoriginal sports meathead who does nothing but spout off sports cliches in interview and point to the heavens after every score / thank Jesus in ever presser, because he saw 'religious' athletes doing that on ESPN his whole life.

Or, you know, anyone trying to get a bunch of people psyched up to expend a great deal of effort over a limited time - how many military groups do you think have heard something similar before going into battle?
