  • When you break your punty off, instead of striking vertically near the connection, try letting go of the punty entirely and swing so that the far end of the punty strikes the torch (or the table top works nicely as well). This allows the leverage to find the weakest point of shear and helps avoid removing chips from (or cracking) the bottom of the jar.

    Would like to give thanks for the video, nice work. I am a former glass blower but due to family issues and money problems I had to sell all my equipment. Now that the ex-wife is gone I will resume the art. Keep the inspiration comming for the beginning blowers out there.
