Looking resplendant in post war black livery in the final months before overhaul, LMS Coronation class 6233 Duchess of Sutherland was in charge of PMR Tours "The Welsh Dragon", steam hauled Crewe-Holyhead-Crewe ; and is seen along the North Wales coast at Conwy on the outward leg, and Ty Croes and Pensarn on the return.

  • Great film, enjoyed watching it.

I was over by the bowling green at Conwy Castle as you were by the estuary.

The castle makes a great backdrop.

I just went to Rhosneigr as it returned, that's a good location too.

    john.

  • @Routerer many thanks John, pleased you enjoyed it. There are a number of good locations at the castle. Will have a look at Rhosneigr next time Im down there. Mike

  • Great viewpoint by the Castle, never been around that side before. Thanks for posting. Alan

  • @1Goldsteam Thanks Alan. Used that location a few times now, and it beats the climb above the castle. Mike

  • @PhilbruProduction Merci Philippe. Conwy is a very picturesque location. Mike

  • @khankadet Thanks Chris. Great minds think alike hey. Must admit I was feeling lazy and didnt fancy the climb above the castle, so it worked out well that we provided different views. Not been to Ty Croes since 1999 with the King.

    Mike

  • Very beautiful images. The shot of the Duchess in front of the castle is superb. Thanks Mike. Philippe

  • Ah, we hd the same idea of a scene settig pan at Conway and I like the viewing angle as the exhaust billows into the sky Mike. The sound seemed to travel across the water better too. You also caught her working nicely at Ty Croes. Great stuff. Chris
