  • "do all you can do, achieve all you can achieve" is from satan. please explain that.

  • For the best explanation, I'd ask Mark Driscoll. I am presuming that you disagree with the statement based on the fact that many have done all they can to help humanity and have done good. In this case, this is true.. This idea in itself is not from Satan. You are right in believing that. I would ask one holding to this belief however why they are doing "all you can do". If it is to make yourself superior and others inferior to you, then it is from Satan since it is based in a spirit of pride.

  • Why does Paul say in Philipians that he is proud of people? Is it a misstranslation?

  • "Repackaged pride as self-esteem"... very interesting truth. We've been so deceived by self-help books...

  • @natbrain I can understand being focused on your success too much being harmful. I have an issue with your last sentence. "God wants us to...". In my opinion you are describing insecurity, which doesn't quite mesh up with a "supreme" being. Like a parent being frustrated by their child not choosing the profession they (the parent) wanted them to (might not be the best metaphor, but the closest i can think of right now)

  • @JellOFishi but if you're successful, or if when you succeed, you praise God, and you give Him glory, and say that the only reason that you succeeded is because of Him, it's fine. God gave each person talents and abilities, and God wants us to use what He's given us to glorify Him.

  • @JellOFishi I'm not sure if you've asked, since you asked 2 years ago, but I'd say that the basis of which he said this was the pride behind it. Being successful in life, or pursuing success in and of itself is not bad. God wants you to work hard, and to use what He's given you to bring Him glory. But many people, including I, get caught up in the rewards of success, that they begin to idolize the rewards and success. That's when it gets bad, it's when it gets more important than God.

  • @freakyjos And his name is mark driscoll..

  • Hilarious! This is one of the most proud, self-righteous, and arrogant men i have ever heard in the pulpit. Preaching oral sex and using scripture to justify this perversion?! He is got to be out of his carnal mind! Satan is having a hay-day with Mark Driscolls church because it is nothing but the lost world in a building pretending to be the bride of Christ while in fact they are lying him down with a whore and causing the rest of the world to blaspheme because of their hypocrisy....Repent!

  • Wat a hypocryte....what is Mark??? FU you pretentious drama queen

  • thank you for this upload, it helped me a lot,and it took to me to other places too, like CJ Mahaney talking about Humility on other uploads...if it was not for your upload here I would not have gone on to the other helpful content.
