I had the chance to test this micro over the weekend outdoors and see how it will handle even the slight breeze :p. Well she is really great to fly plus the fact that it is running on a 2.4Ghz RF connection instead of infrared, outdoor sunlight is not a problem. With the gyro and aileron and elevator cyclics in place, even if there is a slight breeze (direction from left to right on the video frame), we can easily put the heli back on the camera frame (camera on tripod). The helicopter was modified by using a walkera 4#3 2.4Ghz 4-in-1 with a built-in tail gyro. Two magnetic actuators were used to control the aileron and elevator cyclics. These actuators were driven by small walkera servo control boards with trim pots attached for actuator centering.

  • the breeze is not that strong and constant when i flew it. Although you will see at some point the heli drifts to the right, i simply counteract with an opposite cyclic.

  • How do I convert it to 4 ch?

  • its so small i can not see the battery! how long does it fly for, great video

  • The little BIRD seemed to like it too ... ; )

  • At 10 grams I am surprised that it didn't just get caught up in the breeze and fly away.
