A preview of "Doncaster Works 150 " - NDVD1036 from Nova Home Video - available now from Nova Store - http://shop.novastore.co.uk/epages/es105944.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es105...

Built by the Great Northern Railway Company in 1853, Doncaster Works - known as The Plant - produced some of Britain's most famous locos - from the humblest of shunters to powerful mainline steam engines such as 4472 Flying Scotsman, and 4668 Mallard - holder of the World Record for steam traction of 126 mph - as well as a range of diesel and electric locomotives.

This official DVD covers the 150th Anniversary celebrations in May, with detailed views of all the locos present at the weekend as well as interviews with Pete Waterman, Alan Pegler, and many locomotive owners.

Digitally filmed and edited, this DVD is the perfect reminder of the 150th Anniversary of the historic Doncaster Plant Works.

  • Mr Pegler looks like a likely fellow. If only we still had a surfeit of chaps like him around these days..

  • Hope he can visit Flying Scotsman back on steam in 2011 at the NRM York.

  • @scotsman125 Hmmmm... some dispute about this.... :)

  • Wait a minute, 4472 was not the third Gresley Pacific. 4472 was the fifth Gresley pacific to built on the LNER.
