my spindle bit has a shinny coat on the end does this mean its resinous wood and no good ?
-
Can someone tell me which Finnish wood would be best for this?

@GhillieNova hey thanks for the advice! i actually figured it out, basically what has worked for me was alot of downward pressure and slower spinning at first to build up a pile of "dust" then let up the pressure so that you dont create more dust and then had alot of speed, which will turn the dust to a coal! i dont know about you but it works for me every time!

@mmiller6465 im no expert but a little bit more downward pressure should do the trick.

Well done. Great video. Man make fire! You hadthe coal going in like 60 seconds. Two thumbs up.

how come the wood piece that spins wont spin when i do it
poopmcscoopface 1 year ago
@poopmcscoopface It probably wont spin because your string in not tight enough around the spindle. Tighten it up and try it.
