What made these cars sound so great at a race track was that the exhaust exited on both sides of the car. So, you were actually listening to a 4 cylinder engine.

cotton is the man! I have allot of parts from him. my friends owns the cotton picker also. that man has forgotten more about building cars than the nascar guys today will ever know. His suspension set up was the standard for the rest of the mopar people.
