@GeneralZodFDNY77 - Actually, I used to get shoes at Fayva - seemed to hold up better (and last longer) than shoes from Payless.

@DanZero77 - True. Channel 9 under RKO may've been run on the uber-cheap with what amounted to Scotch tape and paper clips (and, for phone communications, Dixie cups and strings) - and ratings wise may've been an also-ran (kind of to NYC what WSNS Channel 44 was to Chicago before it became the ON-TV outlet in 1981-82) - but at least they had identity and a distinctive brand. No more.
