3.10 Firmware Preview [PS3]

New firmware 3.10 has been announced. Here is the preview from Playstation Blog
And no there isnt any Xross Game Chat this time.

Major Features :

+ Facebook Integration (To a certain limit)
+ New grid layout for [Photos]
+ Friends list improved
+ Color for Friends list cards

Oh one thing about the Photo grid. If your using 4:3 Ratio then it will display 3 columns of Photos. And if your using 16:9 Ration then it will display 5 columns of photos.

Minor Features :

+ You can now update your status message from the PSNCard menu (When you click on your card)

+ You can now send error reports to Sony if the system freezes and crashes. A message will appear once the system is restarted.

Keep in mind this is only the beginning of Facebook integration. So with newer updates we will be able to do things like upload photos or actually input update messages.

You probably have a slow connection. Try disabling Media Server from Network Connections. Or Log out and re-log in and then try again.

How to record in HD?

You need to reach a certain level in the video for it to be called HD by youtube. Any camera really that can do HD videos will be automatically "HD" after the video has processed.

they never did. why cant people just read the official blog? its getting annoying to hear the same things with every update.

this is a fairly nice update but billions of poeple will complain again how useles it is and how they didnt implement cross game chat.

Yea and I been through many forums and its everywhere. "NO CROSS CHAT?!?!!?" Its something that will infect all firmware discussion. I wish sony would just add it so people can stop complaining. I personaly wont use xross chat that much. But im tired of people complaining about it.

i have the latest possible update via internet connect and - damn - now my ps3 keeps freezing. Ive had this 60 gb version since the day it was released and never had a problem. It freeze even with no disc inside. Ive tried shutting off the info box and deleting my game cache and still it poops. Any advice? Is it the update? I dont want to restore my system. Anyone out there with the same problem?

i'm going to try replacing my laser (total cost $60 if you do it yourself). It has worked for a small number of people who have managed to do it. Its either that or you send ur ps3 to sony for repairs ($150+)
