Just so you know, editing the registry can be dangerous to your computer. You seem to know what you are doing though

It is dangerous if you do not know what you are doing, always backup registry or create a restore point

3. It slows down your computer. Whether you are changing registry information or using a skin program. Because its loading data usually larger than normal. Skin programs will install spyware and eat up system resources like a fiend.

Bottom line-If you want a sleek user interface and log on screen then do what real hackers and geeks do. Install Linux. Changing boots screens and everything else is just a matter of copy and pasting .png picture files. Good Luck to everyone. Peace.

Bottom line is downloading any utility to change the log on or boot is risky.

1. Because every utility I have found that changes the log on and boot absolutely will install malware and spyware. And its a pain to get rid of it.

2. Messing with the registries is always risky in the first place. Even if you follow every step correctly there is still a chance you will cause a system conflict.

OMG! GhostManOnSixtieth. You helped a bit. But then when I clicked on Change the way users logg off, it said: Client Services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall Client Services for NetWare. WHATS NETWARE??!! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? COMMENT ON MY PROFILE PLEASE!!!! I'M DESPERATE!

lol i installed a vista transformation pack and i deleted it including the boot screen

now it needs to type in username and password

i havent got a password and if i make another account what will happen?I need some help

you need to go into

control panel>user accounts> change the way users log on or off> and make sure there is a check mark next to "Use Welcome Screen" Option.
