Scene from Armando Iannucci's film IN THE LOOP. Here we are introduced to Malcolm Tucker (Peter Capaldi) who serves as the Prime Minister's chief media strategist. Iannucci, better known as the man behind "I'm Alan Partridge" and "The Thick of It", has acknowledged that the Tucker character is directly based on Alistair Campbell. The New York Times did a nice profile on the film at the following link: http://movies.nytimes.com/2009/07/24/movies/24loop.html

  • There's an internal joke in that last line - evidently Angela Lansbury has a reputation for swearing like a sailor.

  • @CaptainRhoo The script I looked up says "poor bastard". Plus, it makes more sense. But, it always sounds like "to a bastard" to me.
