Although it is commonplace now, way back in 1960, Hollywood and the UK film companies used "pop music" to help launch current movies. Here from a British made movie "Circus of Horrors" Garry Mills sings the haunting "Look For A Star". It's just one of those records in the vast Radio Venus record library, which is constantly being played, 50 years after it's intial release. And, of course, one day, like the sad faced clown in the clip, you're sure to find someone to lo-o-o-ve. Cute phrasing by Garry! (Listen at the 1.08 time stamp) Enjoy.

The Film was made at Beaconsfield studios in England - a long way from Hollywood!

Yes of course. It was Anglo Amalgamated Films Ltd in the UK. (Lynx Films was the Production Company) . Sorry for the misleading title, ...but it was a big hit here in Hollywood!!

The only thing I remember about this movie is the scene where the woman who's spinning on the board gets knifed because somebody slowed down the speed of her turntable. The knife-thrower did his usual toss, but she wasn't in the correct position and thus got stabbed in some gruesome bodily location - head, throat, chest...

After seeing this film many times in the past , I have just seen it again on DVD. The Studio Canal release has been beautifully restored and grain free. This famous British horror film from Anglo Amalgamated/Warner Pathe was one of three crowd pullers. The other two being Horrors of the Black Museum & Peeping Tom. All three films were extremely violent for their time. The X Certificate was a big box office draw and guaranteed a full house.

This song has so much meaning, and so appropriate for this Horrow movie.

The performance on the rope was well choreographed.
The young lady looked so relaxed and moved so femininely, so pretty.
How she elegantly descended from the rope is very nice.

Graceful, feminice, and sexy on the rope despite the danger of it. Very pretty.
Goes well with the music.
