Ugh... horrible. This is what happens when people think capoeira can be coreographed. I don't even see this working as a tribute. They should just have incorporated capoeira moves into their dance routine, not actually attempt to DO capoeira.

Love this routine, Nico can do no wrong in my eyes.
-
Dudes, it's not really capoeira. It's not supposed to be. It's a capoeira-inspired dance performance.
But dayum, they picked up those movements fast!
-
well, capoeira can make you a dancer but dance doesn't make you a capoeirista. ;)
-
jajaja.... this capoeira SUCKS!!!!!, it's because they don't have jogo, they need to train in a serious plan....
-
@Daniellaies The title of the song is "Sacode A Poeira", by Mestre Barrao.
You can find it here if you write:
"Mestre Barrao - Secode a poeira"
("sEcode" is wrong, but that's the way it is written)
or
"Vou Embolar , Mestre Barrao - Sacode A Poeira" ! ;-)
-
I don't think of it as an insult to Capoeira...
I agree that "for learning all those moves in such a short time, is a nice work."
They are just dancers, not Capoeiristas, and of course if somebody sees real Capoeiristas and "jogo" in the Roda will be much more excited...
I like very very much the song, "Mestre Barrao - Sacode A Poeira" !
Check it out!

@caboclin01 yea i can see what your saying but at the same time they did nail the armada com mactelos, the au sem maos, ect... like they actually did them fairly well. but i do wish they would have done it more traditionally
-
ehyyy can you tell me the name of the song or were i can found it??????
-
those guys were acting like retards during their 'training'.
But still, for learning all those moves in such a short time, nice work.
For all those people screaming, they should see some real capoeira.
even though I can't do anything about it, i think its a shame that they tried to turn capoeira in...well don't know what it was...
Such videos and shows only make the stereotype image that people have of capoeira grow, which is certainly not a good thing.
That's just my opinion

Capoeria isn't really a type of dance I'd pick for this kind of show. Only experts in this art can make it exciting. It takes years of training to become comfortable doing windmills inches from your opponent's face. These guys were spaced too far apart to make it look dangerous or exciting, and the rhythm was too slow. I would never have expected them to do a good job with it. That's asking too much I think.
