Members of the band: Meredith Figurine, David Figurine, and James Figurine.

(James Figurine, the DJ of Figurine, later collaborated with Ben Gibbard, vocalist of Death Cab for Cutie, to create The Postal Service).

Since the band members lived away from eachother, pieces of a song would be sent to each bandmember through UPS, the US Postal service, internet, and other forms of courier, and complete it as it went from member to member. Think of the process as a construction line for automobiles.

This same process was insisted by Jimmy Tamborello (James Figurine) and used when creating music for his band, The Postal Service.

Figurine, created in the 90's, remains to be the better of the two bands.

Figurine's band members, are somewhat secretive about their identities, using the pseudonyms David Figurine, James Figurine (Jimmy Tamborello) and Meredith Figurine.

All three members are also involved in other bands or have released solo work under their respective Figurine monikers. The band was a precursor to James'/Tamborello's later, more commercially successful project The Postal Service.

I don't know where you get your information from but the dj's name from this band isn't james figurine it's jimmy tamborello and he is the one that collaborated with Ben Gibbard

No, when Jimmy (short for James) is performing in Figurine, his name is James Figurine. Same like Wynne Greenwood and her band, Tracy + the Plastics.
