Americans discard over 380 billion plastic grocery bags each year, choking landfills and endangering animals.

Why use something for 10 minutes that will sit in a landfill for 1000 years?

  • Where I live, if you put things from a store in your own cloth bag like that they think you're shoplifting. Just saying.

  • Frankly, anything will last forever in a landfill. It's buried underground where it's protected from the elements. If you left a plastic bag out in the sun, it would break down much faster. The sun is plastic's weakness.

  • u can pay a fine for littering

  • i just use paper bags, they are used for lots of things, hold alot of stuff and one can hold more than and other bags out there!

  • don't use either paper or plastic jsut bring ur own bag or but a clothe recycled bag form publix for a dollar!

  • *so many, sorry

  • Whos the dumbass that said the plastic bags take a few weeks to decompose? even though they are recycled, we still use so much. plastic bags can take 1000 yrs to decompose, 100 if they are made differently, and the knew decomposing ones still take 50 yrs.

  • BUt the good news is glass can be recycled into anything made of glass an infinite number of times. I work with glass :)

  • Did u know it takes 1 MILLION years for glass to decompose

  • MAT, u are dumb, its call buying a shopping bag (made with cotton) which can be REUSED each time, AND all the paper bags at the stores are recycled paper. so ALL ur rationales are flawed, so save it. you're the type of idiots that still deny that global warming is happening. oh yes, i do see someone in the caves, thats you.
