Dan and Joe Bethel drop in the newly machined motor, fresh from Clay and Platt machine shop. Both the guys have colds, and tempers flaired at points, but they manage too get much done at Bethel Brothers Hot Rod. Joe also talks about parting with the Phantom Duely, after showing the new ride he bought.

  • I thought propane engines take longer to break in, because propane leaves no residue when burnt and shiz. Also burns cooler.

  • They burn 98% less particulates than gasoline, but the break in time isn't negated by the fuel source. Proper lubrication, and how the machinist built it, deligates how the motor will function.

  • how much u lookn round 4 the car

  • The feelers are out, so it is only a matter of time until it shows itself......

  • that silverado has to be a 99 because of the body style. and the motor is an LS, if it was a 5.7 it would be a corvette motor.

  • Sorry Zack, but if you were watching, Joe got the year of the truck, off the inside of the drivers door jam. At 1:14, Joe opens the drivers door, and gets the year off it.

  • Better spark WAAAWOOOM :D

  • guys that definatally aint a 98.. its a 2000 somethin

  • I would bet the truck is a 99, the door jam is usually the mfg date which typically is a year prior (made in 98). 2009 vehicles have been available for months as an example.

  • i dunno man, unless it was totally converted somehow or the sticker got messed up in the process, this has got to be a 99'

  • Hey Dan...the new motor looks cool, just a thought, if that Dizzy casing only clears the bulkhead by a few mil', it could fould under torque load no...? is it worth just gently dressing the bulkhead back a bit with a soft mallet, just to give it a clear 10mm.....better that that crack the casing..cant wait to see it fired up ....and when will Sam see life..!??

    Cheers guys

    Derek
