  • Yes, it does make the hexagons medallions thick - creating bulk and texture behind the hexagon and in the grand scheme extra warmth. Its a matter of personal preference - my personal view is that small hexagons do not need much quilting - I prefer to knot. If you are quilting larger hexagons you may prefer to have a 1cm seam allowance. Best to experiment with a small project to decide your preferred method. Hope this helps.

  • I learned quite a bit from just this short video..the use of stripes and also sewing in strips! Thank You!

  • @Imbz48 Sorry for the redundant question! If I had read further down I would have found my answer!! This is a great tutorial.

  • What happens to the paper??

  • Thanks for the instructions they are great. One question - the paper and tucking cotton get removed at the end? Cheers

  • I'm just curious, because of the huge seam allowances on your hexagons, that makes them very thick. Doesn't this cause issues when you go to quilt them?

  • Hermoso tu tutorial para coser los exagonos , la forma de coser, lo busque en muchos lados y nada , no sabia como se podian unir pero ahora ya se, graciaspor enseñarlo muy bie, mis felicitaciones.

  • I have wanted to sew a patchwork quilt for years and you have given me the motivation! Thank you so much.
