email as advertising has become controversial as we all know. However a couple of points need to be clarified. 1. the big companies like aol, microsoft, yahoo and myspace are also sending out millions of emails everyday. you cant sign up to their sites without opting in to receive email. later you can opt out. 2, there is a place for legitimate opt in email. there are hundreds of newletters who email to 10,000 to 100,000 users on their opt in list with each issue.
