I've been messing around with this prelude for the past couple of weeks - above my grade really, but thought I'd post given that I haven't put anything up for a while. This is the slower (blurrier :0)) version that I've just cut after a couple of glasses of wine. Comments, thoughts much appreciated. Be interested to hear how other people think this should be interpreted for the piano, given that it's a lute prelude I think(?)

  • This is my favourite piece of classical music EVER! I've heard it played once to perfection before by my friend's sister. I've been looking for a slow version on the piano, it's really haunting and gorgeous. Yours is one of the closest! Maybe try a little slower with more pedal? <3

  • Thank you for your kind comment. I've actually given up piano for a while, but if and when I go back to it, I'll see if I can polish this up a bit. I really like it also - the chordal movements in this piece are amazing, but I guess that's Bach for ya. :0)

  • I hope you do not stay away from the piano too long. I just got re-started piano after more than 35 years. I was thrilled to come across your uploads which have some great material to inspire me to get going. Thanks!

  • go back to it and never leave it!!! you need the piano it is a language everyone knows but few can speak, you have made yourself clear to all. I might suggest too, that you get an accoustic piano. They really become an extension of yourself.

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Thank you so much for posting this!

It was a minute and thirty-five seconds of pure enjoyment.

    :]
