1981 Malibu Classic Landau

mine runs like a dream with the 350. She will burn serious rubber in 1st but the gear ratio of the 3 speed is spread out more than a 4 speed so burning in 2nd on dry road is pretty much out of the question. If you plan to race, go 4 speed. If you want to show up a few ricers on the road, the 3 speed is fine. With mine i can get 40m/h in 1st, 70m/h in 2nd and I hit 130m/h in 3rd with some to spare when i let off. My car has 229 rear end gears. check my vid where I took it to 130m/h

hey man beautiful car first of all, secondly i have a 81 malibu that came with a 3.8l and saginaw transmission (iraqi taxi) im about to turbocharge it... just curious if you know anything about these tranny's? if they can support power... seeing as yours is linked to a 350... thanks and once again very nice bu'

@ihateyourfaceful I really dont think it can handle the power of a turbo. But if you get a 3 speed from a mid 70`s chev 1/2 ton you should be ok. Those things are damn near bullet proof

well i have now decided to drop in a small block instead, hows that saginaw tranny hold up linked to your 350? most likely gonna keep it if i put a small block in, thanks for the feedback too appreicate it
