@cantliff9 - and oh, lets not forgot the overcrowding on Stagecoach Metrolink - thank god I now drive to work!

Can I just add that Northern Rail are about as crap as FCC?

London's suburban trains are a disgrace! I frequently visit the UK and stay at Croydon Court hotel between Thornton Heath and West Croydon. Whenever I go by suburban rail there's ALWAYS trouble. First the train's got red light, then there is some technical error, then the driver has won his licence on some lottery and has to drive like 50 km/h...scandalous! When I went Tulse Hill-St Albans I waited for over an hour, had to alight at City Thameslink, wait an hour and it took 80 min to St Albans.

This is First: moneymoneymoney give it to me! lol bet the fairs are at rocket levels now, they put a fares up on their buses right at the beginning of the recession and again three months onwards to would you believe, and the government wants us to leave our cars at home.
When there is thousands of commuters that travel at peak times, do you really want off peak customers travelling with your causing overcrowding? i have to agree with fcc there

Us commuters have always taken it as part of the deal that leisure travellers will sometimes be going home on the same train as us. FCC seem to have obtained their contract on a promise to reduce overcrowding. We thought they'd get more trains, instead all they did was ban people with a valid ticket from going home.

Absinthedude,
What camera is it you used to film this? I'm getting annoyed with National Express, and might recording something similar about them. I might post it on both youtube and enclose a coppy with a nice, polite, (ok who am I trying to kid?) long letter?

I used a smartphone, mostly because I carry a full bag to work and don't want the hassle of a full size camcorder. Provided nobody asks me to stop it is perfectly legal. Since a train and station are legally not "public places", if a staff member asks me to stop I'd have to do so. My fellow passengers could also object to me photographing them but so far nobdoy has ever objected. I've been applauded more than once.
