On the surface, Brandy and Josh look like a happy young couple expecting a new baby. But behind closed doors, they are hiding a huge secret-Josh wants to be a woman. For the past six months, Josh has been undergoing treatments to become a woman by taking estrogen shots, while Brandy suffers from trichotillomania, a disorder of obsessive hair pulling, which she covers up with a wig. Will the birth of their son lead Josh to consider the possible repercussions of his gender confusion? Will Josh and Brandy be able to learn how to live honestly with each other and their newborn baby? Or will this family be destroyed by secrets?

  • I'm glad that she received positive responses when she came out to Brandy (the wife) and her mom. I do not like the ending so much, but I understand how it feels going back and forth. This show and others are really doing a lot of good for raising awareness and acceptance for our community.

  • I am proud of you josh for getting it out in the open and I hope family ,friends and everyone else will be able to let you be yourself good luck

  • I Give it 5 months at best before she starts dressing again and thinking about HRT.. This is something that you can't keep inside and does not go away...I know i tried, All it will do is make your life worse and worse trying to keep it locked up.

Brandy is evil and wrong to force this on her and guilt her with the kid and having a dad when Brandy could have said the kid will have two awesome moms etc And sooner or later it will be that way...

  • Brooke is a fantastic person and a loving parent..I am great friends with her and she is happier now than she appears to be in this video...this video is a perfect example of how trans ppl are portrayed in the media...us to be the bad people...it makes me sick frankly. Brooke hunni I love you, I love who you are inside and out and dont ever change that for anyone!

and p.s. to anyone that reads this...using the incorrect pronouns when addressing a trans person is like stabbing them in the chest.

  • Well that was stupid. I'm trans myself, it doesn't just go away. She brainwashed josh. And her feelings will just come up later

  • Brooke/Josh: You are deluding yourself that you've just "wished away" your gender identity. I know because I fooled myself in the same way and hid in a marriage. Result: many years of depression, divorce after another child, near-suicide, and *still* my gender identity is the same. All I've done is lost so many years I could have been me. But you know what? Now my kids are *fine* with my transition -- the younger they are the better. Who says you can't be female and go hunting anyway? *BS*

  • Good luck with that...This issues going to hit you like a ton of bricks as you age. It never ends!

  • Josh's issues are going to resurface

  • I know this has been touched on and the truth of the matter is.... you can't put it away, or put it behind you. Yes having a child can make you feel different towards it but you cannot hide who you are. I do have this experience. When I was married and we had our child, I had told myself I would put "her" behind me, guess what? My son is 11 years old now and I still feel I am female. So best of luck to this couple but Brooke is NOT gone!

  • I think they shouldn't worry about their son being bothered about his 'dad' being transgender. A child will always love their parents. No matter what. I wish the best for them and their family. <3

  • I hope Brandy and Josh make it, but I honestly don't think Josh's issues are going to go away, I think Brooke is still there. I have been in Josh's shoes, it doesn't go away

  • you act female . look female. you are female. thats all i gotta say. just be happy with who you are
