Big Big Event 08: Friday night instructor demo

This is the Friday night teacher demo at the first night of the Big Big Event, June 6, 2008, inside the Glen Echo Bumper Car Pavilion. The music is "On The Sunny Side Of The Street," performed live by The Solomon Douglas Swingtet. The dancers are Mike Faltesek, Casey Schneider, Peter Strom, Ramona Staffeld, Chad Fasca, and Gretta Thorn (Chad's usual partner, Midori Asakura, was still recovering from foot surgery).

The Big Big Event is a weekend of nightly dances, workshops, and late-night dances hosted by The Jam Cellar.

The Jam Cellar is a world-reknowned weekly swing dance party held in a posh, turn of the century mansion in Northwest Washington, DC on Tuesday nights. The Jam Cellar offers class series in Lindy Hop and other swing dances for all levels of dancers taught by some of the best instructors in the world. What a fabulous weekend this was. Didn't matter too much that it was 100 degrees, humid as hell, and there was no AC; everybody danced their asses off because the energy was great! ---E
