My experience of riding bullet train was dizzying, it was smoothly going at 160 knots (283 km/h) - that was flying speed of fast personal airplane! Amazing!

  • I wanted to go on the bullet train ride but I was told it was expensive so I went on the theme park ride bullet train instead XD

  • It was not a joy ride, just had move between cities in Japan. BTW, luggage traveled separately by truck.

  • fast personal plane? lol

  • Do you fly? Cirrus SR-20 can fly at 160 knots, SR-22T can do 190 knots, those machines are cost about $0.5 million to enjoy. I fly Cessna 182 and rarely goes any faster than 120 knots. Of course I am not talking about personal jets, I said personal airplanes.

  • bullet trains are fast, they need some here in New York, it takes mad long in brooklyn

  • One thing is baggage handling, we don't have it in the US, traveling on bullet train does not involve hauling suitcases behind, they travel separately and in my case never lost.

  • The train may have started off a little late, or been cleared to run at a higher speed due to congestion further down the line. The flat-nosed type (700 series) has a maximum of 285km/h. There's a very sophisticated Automatic Train Control system on all Shinkansen lines, so no train goes faster than it is supposed to go.

  • @keepmehangingonset I see, thanks for the answer.

  • @nuorangejapan JR has similar service "Perikan-bin", where you can send your heavy luggage anywhere within Japan for about less than 1500 yen within one to three days, I think.

  • @keepmehangingonset Takkyuu-bin is for express shipping luggage? Is this service offered by JR?

  • @nuorangejapan , you should use Takkyu-bin service.

  • @bkourman I have traveled by Shinkansen at least 5 times and I have always brought my luggage with me. There may be the option to ship luggage separately but I have never had that situation. Probably has to do with the fact that if your luggage comes by truck, it will arrive far behind the train. Supposing I wanted to catch a plane, it would make sense for the luggage to be with me.

  • Should'be taken some video of the inside of the train.

  • @Civsuccess2 1400$. *1$=100yen.

  • its like, i watch the video in fast forward..amazing

  • It is incredible. My town had the first train service ever. But Britain lost it. These guys took it forward.

  • It is incredible.
