As part of its 2010 testimonial series featuring a number of Triangle leaders offering first-hand accounts of why Wake County is a great place to live and work, Wake County Economic Development (http://www.raleigh-wake.org) presents Lloyd Yates, president and CEO of Progress Energy, a Fortune 500 energy company headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., with more than 22,000 megawatts of generation capacity and approximately $10 billion in annual revenues that includes two major electric utilities serving about 3.1 million customers in the Carolinas and Florida. He discusses relocating to Wake County from Philadelphia in 1998, being recruited by Carolina Power and Light, the predecessor to Progress Energy, and enjoying the business and recreational aspects of the community. Wake County Economic Development is a program of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
