A chain is a consecutive amount of the same pokemon you face when using the pokeradar. Once your chain reaches 40, it is much easier to get a shiny. All you have to do is reset the pokeradar. If it's registered, you can just push y to reset the pokeradar. This guide shows what not to do and what to do. Chaining takes a lot of patience, and if you need a break, then just put your ds in the charger and put it in sleep mode.

im chaining on kirlia and ralts foor gallade but swarms of snubbull keep coming and im doing it correctly and no matter what I do they won't go away :(
