Baseball training means hitting with the Bratt's Bat!
This unique weighted bat is used in Major League Baseball by many of the games best power hitters... you'll see them in the on deck circles.
(Just look for the red sleeve and the wood handle).
There's even one enshrined in The Baseball Hall of Fame!
What you won't see is who is training with them in spring training and in training facilities all over the country.
It works because it makes you do the work. It doesn't swing itself as other weighted products do.
Working with Bratt's Bat develops dynamic strength, which to a hitter means quickness and power. It loosens your hitting muscles as it strengthens them.
The hands, wrists, back and arms benefit most from its use. Bratt's Bat will add points to both your batting average and slugging percentage as you hit harder and farther!

I think you need a mix of weighted bat training and quick hands drills. What I've been doing with my sons is mix in weighted bats and power bag training in the weeks leading up to any major tournament, using soft toss and tee work. The last week would be the bat used in the game. That week we would go tee, soft toss then live. I've noticed great bat control and bat speed.

Can you use the Bratt Bat in a slow pitch softball batting cage or will that break the bat?

go big or go home baby. i train in the cages with a 40 oz wood bat all the time, and i might get this bratt bat if i heard correctly it was 65 oz? now thats what im talking about. i hit 350 ft plus homers with wood many times, and im still in high school. and when i switch to metal for high school season, its that much easier.

Well, maybe if you swing a heavy bat. i always thought you should be swinging a lighter bat (not too light) to be quicker, like how bonds would use a smaller bat than others. IN fact, I think i developed a better swing when i trained with a smaller, shorter bat and hit whiffle balls. But this heavy bat does seem like an interesting concept. I am not sure though because i have used a weighted bat before. It did help me swing a heavier bat, but then i got WORSE with my lighter bat.

I don't agree with swinging weighted bats. They are ok for warming up but you are not going to really increase your power by swinging with weighted bats. You want to use a bat that you can swing easy with control. Strength should be applied in the weight room and by practicing you get better mechanics. the man is just selling you a gimmick.

The above comment is worthy of consideration.
But...I disagree
1977 MLB Homerun champ George Foster used this same Bratt's Training Bat.
Mark McGwire used it & trained with it when he hit 70 hr's. It is used in almost every MLB on deck circle..
It's equivalently weighted to your game bat. Its overload training. Big League Baseball is on to something... its your call....
And do check out The Bratt's Bat at the Hall of Fame!

Its about training...not just using.
Yout overload train for strength...including core strength. You use an overloaded bat in the on deck circle to loosen...6 swings of overload, then 6 swings of you game bat to get quick and time the pitcher...if there's time.
And Barry Bonds was a user of the Bratts Bat!...best of luck to you.
