I remember that one summer day
you and I went running away
jumped in my car to get away
find a place to hideaway
where you and I found a quiet place
where we could lay

and we lost track of time
and watched the sunset disappear and the stars come alive
And then I kissed you for the first time
we made love under a blanket of moonlight

It was like
the island breeze played a melody
& the stars shined brighter for you and me
and the moon had hushed the world and made it all disappear

to relive
that one night
bring me back
to that time
we were together

I reminisce on the days
layin on the beach
with the sun in your hair
the ocean at our feet
how I loved the way you'd look at me
and smiled
we were two young lovers
wild and free frozen in a moment in time
lost in love
for awhile

it was like

and then oneday the season changed
the winds have drifted you away
when I woke up that morning you had gone
still the scent of you still lingers when I wake
I put my hand to rest where you used to lay

and in a dream
you came to me
and whispered softly to me
telling me
run away with me
before the sun arises
then I open up my eyes and look out to the sea
wishing you were back here with me

...and I can hear the rain...
