Claymore vs. wet straw bails

William Wallace Generation 2 claymore used on some soaking wet straw bails during a Renaissance Faire demonstration. the outside had dried (hence the flying bits of straw) but they were still 2x as heavy and dense. me being 6'6", 300 lb. with an 8 lb. sword, I figured I would have it cut in half in one or two swings. this had proved to be much more difficult than I suspected.

Wrong stance, bad footwork and an overengineered blade, why would you expect him to be able to cut through all of them?

@sacajamore Thats certainly the smallest one Ive seen. The one Ive had experience with is 60".

@l3054 LOL, I never claimed I was an experienced cutter, in fact this was my THIRD time ever using this for anything other than to show how small a sword can look in my hands ;)

There are young guys in Glasgow with smaller bits of steel who do much more dammage on a Saturday night.

@STLOU87 Primitive Claymores are like 5' long, at least those Ive handled were all 5', that looks nowhere near 5 feet.
