  • You are correct in that a stone knife would be a bit difficult with some trees as their trunk bark is quite thick and deeply furrowed. If you have a stone knife you would not harvest from the trunk but from the smaller branches or roots where the bark is much thinner and more pliable. I have used stone knives many times on these smaller parts with success.

  • Good stuff. =) But wouldn't a stone knife be very difficult to work with, seeing as how it's much more brittle? Just wondering... anyway, definitely going to check out more!
