@rocsalt Thanks for re-stating the point I was making. They NEVER would've cut up back then for those exact reasons. That's why I find this "loose" interview refreshing. Ya know, at the Reunion Tour interview on Intrepid, Ace stated something to the likes of "I feel as ridiculous in these costumes as I did 15 years ago!". He would have never been allowed to say that back in the in-character days...and for good marketing reason. Superman didn't complain about his cape.Thanks for the input.Peace

@mattpig69 You gotta take into account that they were trying to be taken seriously at that time. I believe Gene felt like Ace was not presenting a "proper wholesome image". (Most of their fans were 7-15 years old.) Now, they've proven everything they wanted to prove.

This is great because back in the day, (in the 70s) they were so in character, they didn't joke as much...they would've never made a joke at Gene's expense back then. Ref: "Today Show"..Gene being pissy. This sounds like 4 guys who have been through it ALL together, and know way too much about each other but are able to at least have fun with it. Will these four ever have these kind of laughs again? No. Those days are over.

i dont think they meant to laugh at someone's childhood memories; it's Ace insanely infectious laughter that kept setting em off. i know Paul wouldnt laugh at that, coz he's really sweet
it's crazy. Ace Frehley hands down has the most infectious laughter in the fking world.
