I don't know, I'm not an expert, but the judges passed them through to the finals. Can you quote any examples of good formation dancing on YouTube?
Anyway the dresses are nice and the girls are pretty and look happy.
The dance band is very good when it plays a whole piece - see the numbers for the Rhumba and the Cha Cha Cha in the other clips.

But it takes skill to keep in line, remember the next formation and not bump into each other.
I agree that the changes of too frequent and too abrupt.
