  • @kanakaken tommy would probly be better at improv and stuff but to be honest if your talking about tone and clarity i do think doyle is better. and im not a big fan of bluegrass but i think most people would agree that its anything but boring.

  • @lart1990 I watched Dykes' rendition of Wabash & as great as he is, if you sat the two together with the same model of acoustic guitar,TE would outshine. TE inputs nuances, tone & clarity, of a quality Dykes could only dream of. If I chose only one thing to critisize it would be, you can't hear the harmonics in Dykes' playing. Having said that, their styles are completely different. Dykes is bluegrass, TE plays everything, including bluegrass, fortunately not often, it's a bit boring.

  • You cannot not love Tommy.

  • @MarijnvdZaag he plays very similar to chet/tommy, I think he tends to use the same fingers but doesnt play bass with the thumb and then, say, string 4 assigned to index finger, string 5 middle finger etc..I think he might use thumb for bass notes only, but i also think he just plays every note on every string with every finger.

  • @TheOutriger Do you doubt that there's nothing he can't play or do you mean you doubt there's anything he can't play?

Very interesting question anyway... the only thing I can think of is Mark Knopfler's clawhammer style. Knopfler has this amazing subtle picking style that I haven't heard anyone come close to. Any thoughts?

  • It's great watching great guitar players having fun while they play. Reminds me of Jerry Reed RIP. Fantastic Tommy!! Brought a smile to my face :-)

  • He is playing Perfect and relax ^ ^

  • супер, это круто

  • Is there nothing this man can't play? I doubt it.

  • Cool ...Sands .. Kirk is a master .. The first one I saw was Lenny's 7 string and Struttin was I believe played on TE's nylon .. such a master TE & Kirk
