A short run through on the new Ministar Castar travel guitar, along with a basic compact set up ideal for traveling that all together cost less than just one of the alternative travel electrics I had looked at. The video run through assembly, sounds of the different pickups and putting it all together. To see how it sounds with a full set up/ backup tracks, check out my other video, which shows the set up & 5 short clips with different settings/ effects: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxuM4OTKrcw

    Customer Reviews:

Really nice guitar. You would never think it had no body, the sound is so rich. The nut needed adjustment right out of the box since there was fret buzz at the headstock end of the neck. The adjustment procedure was a little difficult at first until I finally fully understood what the directions meant. The action is a bit more than a ...

  • @cypeageddog0i FYI, your link didn't work. Came up with no such address...

  • Nice playing! Thanks for the review.

  • @aquaphone Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it.

  • Do you think it would be possible to use strap buttons? The only thing i dont like are the top bars.

  • @cdemanelis I don't think you can mount them to the ends easily due to the bridge. Also, the metal bars allow you to separate the support points from the guitar. Without that it would likely be unbalanced.

  • lol this is random but you almost sound like hugo weaving

  • @LimeyInSD Hmm, In that case i can't really move on until I have 1 in front of me. It's gonna take more than strap buttons if the weight was used in the design... Even as is I think this is more pracitcal 4 my need than some of the more expensive alternatives. Thanks 4 the upload and insight very helpful in my decision.

  • @candidcomment Thanks. I have not played or seen the one with the built in amp. I upgraded mine to install the new bridge assembly that's on the PRO (see my other videos). It works great and I strongly recommend it over the original (which eats strings and allows no intonation/ height adjustment). I'm less interested in the headphone amp as I use effects and need to practice with those. I think the PRO version will be at least $200, though I haven't seen anyone selling yet.

  • Hi ! Nice review. playing and set up to! I wanted to ask if you played the Castar version with the built in headphone amp? I wnt to buy one and have seen different models on the net. I have seen the Minstart for $109 Us but am not sure witch is witch
