we had a chance to shoot a flintlock rifle as you can see here, but what surprised us is the lock time. there really is not much of a delay at all between the hammer fall and the ball being launched down range.

  • i think the short locktime comes from better materials in the powder, giving much better ignition over the traditional powder used back in the day. Also, i assume you used very fine priming powder in the pan, giving better transfer through the flash-hole?

  • The black powder used was standard black powder, but the amount used in the pan was less than most people use, and the result was less delay in the powder train.

  • INterseting but why so many short vids. Stitch em together next time dude.

  • Originally I tried, but because they are all in HD, they overwhelmed the software each time, so I had enough of the crashing, and just when with short videos.

  • Looks like a fun rifle. I'm halfway tempted to get a nice .72 musket, but I'd also like to get a .50-56 Spencer carbine I've seen, too. Decisions, decisions.

Nice pants, too. I think I have the same ones, pretty cheap from the Sportsman's Guide.

  • yep... and those shorts are nice and comfortable.
