Stacking a wood pile that is stable can be a challenge. This is a short video on how to stack a wood pile in the shape of a 5x8x5 foot cube. The wood pile is built on top of a pallet made of concrete blocks, 4x4 posts, and 2x6 boards. The final wood pile is very stable and will not fall down. The video was created by Gary Olson.

  • Thank you hairy dude... But a cord is 8' X 4" X 4" !

  • @phnortgner A cord of wood is 4x4x8 stacked neat.

  • Where is a cord of wood 5' x 5' x 8'?

  • You could use much more air space between your rows. The wood will dry much faster.

  • Ack ! use old 48 Inch pallets ! or put it in the woodshed !

  • @dillyworld no, use pallets. This guys bit, while correct, is needlessly complex and expensive. Pallets can be had for free all over if you look....just ask any small biz that has a pile. I've never had anyone say no. Free, easy. good luck!

  • Very helpful. I just happened to have a pallet, but I will use the base concept as well. Thanks for posting.

  • ARE WE THERE YET???

  • Good lord. I thinks it's snowing already...it took you so long to make this video.

  • I watched your video and approved it as a video response. I'm glad I didn't have to do mine in the snow like you did.
