I first heard about velomobiles from the Touring@Phred list serve some years back. It was perhaps 3 years ago that I first saw the velomobile videos such as this one.
I was hooked.
My Quest will arrive sometime the end of this coming Summer to early Fall.
I can't wait.

GreatRogers,
Are a dimwit? Clearly yes!
Are you a sad bastard? That's obvious!
Are you getting enough sex? Obviously no!
Can you spell? No.
-
The look like male genitals.
Even if the shape is for "aerodynamics" They really aren't going that fast in the first place... This isn't Dr. Seuss people.
-
Quietness, it tells you how smooth your machine is. And it's always better to use your own power than that black stuff stolen from earths crust. :) -want one of those velomobiles
-

Beautiful thing in this things is that you have no engine. You can ride quite fast with no fuel, no gas, no electric.. It's called "freedom" :)

M4aster,
Clearly, you just don't understand!
Vehicles powered by fossil fuels have their speed effectively unlimited. To go faster just fit a bigger engine.
Human powered vehicles are strictly limited by the power output of the human body, which is limited by health, fitness and age.
The only way to go faster and for longer is by improving aerodynamics. That's how it's possible to achieve 30 mph with only 200 watts of power, [Quest velomobile Google].
