awesome, all the other 8-bit renditions use instruments that are too high quality, sounds like bastardized 16-bit and not 8, like this.

@rakninja A lot of """""chiptune artists """"" use a program called GSXCC. basically you take a midi file that already exists and just open it with this program, assign instruments to each track and save it. It takes absolutely no effort and it's just a shame that people aren't willing to put in some effort to make something truly special. Sometimes I look around for """""8-bit """"" versions of things here and dislike them and leave comments scolding them for not doing their part lol!

@SuperWarMech this is true, you can do the same thing in any program that supports midi editing.... ive even made a few myself.... the trick is using good instrument samples, something a good many people cant be bothered with, and also remastering the midi to sound nice.

but you are very right, when you take the effort to recompose the song with a true 8-bit chip, it almost always sounds better than a straight midi replacement.
