I thought it was kind of gutsy to give her the "Standard Security Officer Death". It could have been an interesting comment on how not everyone gets a glorious death with awesome last words. Sometimes that person that gets randomly murdered by a slime creature is a main character. Doubt that was what was fully intended but its kind of interesting.

it was due to Denise Crosby (who played Tasha) felt her character wasn't so developed. She left the series but later returned playing the Romulan Commander Sela Yar

im sorry but was SOOOO lame for the wrighters to kill off Tasha in like the first 10 minuts of the episode in a lame way, it had no buildup and just sorta happened.
