We were thrilled to have Keith Harkin and Emmet Cahill from Celtic Thunder join us in studio this morning for an interview and an unbelievable rendition of their popular song Lauren and I!

CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY WITH IRISH MUSIC PHENOMENON CELTIC THUNDER AND THEIR NEW CD AND DVD, HERITAGE AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE FEBRUARY 22ND ON DECCA!

Approaching sales of one million units combined, the wildly entertaining Celtic Thunder pay homage to the musical culture of Ireland with their new CD and DVD concert special, Heritage. Just in time for the forthcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday, Heritage will also be broadcasted across the U.S. on Public Television stations during the March 2011 pledge period, with an estimated one thousand airings beginning in late February (check local listings). Both the new CD and DVD will be released everywhere on Decca February 22nd.

Heritage, produced by Sharon Browne and longtime collaborator Phil Coulter, features performances by fan-favorites - each with their own unique stage personas - Damian McGinty, Keith Harkin, Paul Byrom, Ryan Kelly and George Donaldson, along with the newest member of the ensemble, Emmet Cahill, who takes over for Byrom on future tours and recordings. Coulter comments, "We all deeply appreciate Paul's unique contribution to the group from the start... we are equally confident that Emmet will bring his own gifts and individuality to Celtic Thunder." Delivering stirring and show-stopping performances in the tradition of their previous releases (Celtic Thunder: The Show, Act Two, Take Me Home, It's Entertainment and most recently, Christmas), Celtic Thunder now return to their distinct Irish roots with this inspired collection of songs, including the sweet and tranquil "Kindred Spirits", the rousing jig, "A Place In The Choir", the seductive "Black Is The Color," and the upbeat "Whiskey In The Jar," to name a few. Their 60-minute DVD was shot in high-definition and filmed in front of a live audience in Poughkeepsie, NY -- a fall tour of the show will follow later this year.

Since the airing of their first Public Television special in 2008, Celtic Thunder consistently remains one of the most popular musical acts for the network. In addition to their impressive sales stats of almost one million units combined, they have sold over 350,000 concert tickets. Their official YouTube channel, "Thunder Tube" has received over 15 million upload views since its inception in 2008. Celtic Thunder had the distinct honor of performing for President Obama at The White House's St. Patrick's Day celebration in 2009, and they also opened New York City's famed St. Patrick's Day Parade on 5th Avenue two consecutive years in a row (2008 & 2009). In addition to appearing in four hugely successful Public Television specials and their multiple appearances on QVC (with another confirmed for March 17th), Celtic Thunder has also performed on the Today Show, CBS Early Show's Saturday Second Cup Café, and numerous regional shows in major cities across America. Of their live performances, The Virginian-Pilot noted, "no matter what they tackle they do it with 'beaucoup' energy" and The New York Times described the group as "a Fab Five peddling Celtic stylings."
