Er spielte mit so viel Eleganz, so fein nie grobschlächtig es machte immer den eindruck als würde er den Ball streicheln, er schien der Getleman des Fussballs zu sein, zudem mit einer unglaublichen präzision im passspiel, einem meisterhaften dribbling und einer nicht nachzuahmenden Vision auf dem Spielfeld mit der er aus den miserabeln Situation Torchancen und Tore heraus spielte und er war wie per Zauber immer in den Schlüsselmomenten zur Stelle. @ParaDipset you don't understand that there was little competition during that time in Europe. Bosman ruling and labor laws changed the leagues and teams like Portugal and France became better than Italy and Germany.

France: 3 European titles, 1 World Cup.. I hope Charlie isnt speaking from the english perspective which hasn't claimed a title since 1966 being their only world cup which is accompanied by a fat 0 when speaking of euro titles.

France was only successful during a time when most European top leagues were getting too many foreign players. Italy and Germany were both weaker at that time. Easter European soccer (Yugoslavia, Romania, USSR) didn't exist anymore. The only other good European sides at that time were Holland and Portugal and they weren't as great as Italy and Germany were in their prime. When France starts winning sports, you know that particular sport is in a crisis.
