This is an oral history story about high school life, a Mercury Comet car, altos and sopranos. It was originally part of the video "A Portrait of Main Street, Pocahontas, Iowa" produced in 1992 by the Pocahontas Public Library and Gunder-friend Productions. The story is told by Carol Hudson Hallman of the Pocahontas High School Class of 1992. It is presented here as an example of basic, straight line editing. The footage was shot with a Super VHS camcorder and edited with SuperVHS equipment with no capacity to do fades, dissolves, and other treatments so easy to create in the age of digital editing. The on-line version is divided into three versions. One is the rough, unedited story. The second is the abridged story with several jump cuts to made the shorter version. The third is the abridged story with added visuals and sandwiched between two other story-tellers. For further information, contact: www.gunderfriend.com
