Stan Kotala, Conservation Chair for the Juniata Valley Audubon Society http://www.jvas.org and Mollie Matteson, Conservation Advocate for the Center for Biological Diversity http://www.biologicaldiversity.org explain the importance of Central Pennsylvania's Heller Caves, a hibernaculum for the eastern small-footed bat and home to the only known population of an endemic species of springtail, and how they are trying to protect it from being quarried out by suing -- wait for it -- the state agency charged with environmental protection.
