Yeah! I realized what was wrong (Rudders reversed)shortly after the video was shot and beached it to fix it. It had been a long time since I had rigged one and I was in a hurry and nearly delirious from stepping the mast by myself.

Try and get the toe in fixed before you take it out in high winds. I had my rudders on backwards once when I was new to the boat, so one would point out when the other was straight. I learned my lesson just minutes after go out, when one of the rudders broke at the waterline from all the force.

A new boat from 1977? :p It looks good for being that old though.

I was given a '78 Hobie 16 with extras and got her in the water after refinishing the hulls and painting. She has the same sails as yours. I found chart on the Hobie site that lists all the sails by year and the names of them. Yours (and mine) are called "Flamer". Good Sailing from Texas.
