The Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme is available for anyone who has experienced a change to their established cardiac condition or for anyone who has experienced a first cardiac event. People who use the service may have experienced a heart attack, angina or coronary angioplasty or cardiac surgery, such as coronary artery by-pass surgery or valve replacement surgery.
The programme is run by a team of experienced nurses and cardiac physiotherapists and is available throughout NHS Dumfries & Galloway.

Contact your local cardiac rehab provider and they can advise you according to your abillity. All exercise can be adapted to suit the individual and this particular group exercise may not be appropriate for all. People with cardiomyopathy are often advised to concentrate on light muscle strengthening exercise rather than the aerobic type exercise shown here. Tai Chi is also good. Good luck
