  • My husband bought me a lampwork kit for Christmas. As you may have heard the kits suck. I've thrown away the bead release and already need a new torch. (So watching these videos is kind of painful because I can't try anything out!) I've had fun playing and learned a lot in just a few days. It's so challenging. But I'm proud of even my ugliest creations. LOL!

  • I'm not sure what you mean by "the kits suck". My entire set-up started as a kit and all I have done is expand on it. As with most things, you do get what you pay for. What kind of torch did you get?

  • Hi. Thank you for the wonderful video!

Can you please post what type of glass you are using and the names of the colors??? I'd really appreciate it.

  • Well, it is COE 104 also called Soft Glass. Google "Frantz Art Glass" and look at the 104 "soft glass". The blue is Lapis Blue, then it is just white and clear. I think this is all Effetre and Vetrofond brand glass. I tend to use Lauscha brand clear but I don't remember what I used in this bead. All the COE 104 soft glass is compatible so buy the colors you like. That's what I do.

  • Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No problem.

  • Thanks so much for sharing your techniques. It's so nice to see someone who also works in soft glass (COE 104), since it behaves quite differently than the harder glass (COE 96). I've been practicing once a week for two years, at a studio, and am still having trouble getting flower petals to keep their shape -- while keeping my bead warm enough to avoid cracking. I'm curious if you have had problems with your insurance company raising your rates dur to the "fire hazards"?

  • I really enjoy your videos. You are a great instructor and do nice work. Thank you for taking the time to put it on you tube.

  • Ross, What was the name of your kit that you started with?????Brand name?? Ty so much. I am soooooooo excited to get going BUT I don't want to spend $600 right away

  • Excellent video, Well explained, best I've seen yet. I appreciate the clear, concise instruction. Thanks!

  • Прекрасный урок !
