  • Continued... There is no counterweight the left-wing cabal that controls this town and absolute power has corrupted absolutely. Schools and public safety are a chronic mess. I have given up on my hometown after waiting many years for moderation to return. PDX has believed its own hype for far too long.

  • So, you are saying that infinite sprawl of cheap one-story single family homes with unmitigated "mainstream" car driving and smog (Greater L.A. living) is your utopian leaning? PDX seems to lean toward community problem solving. But, surely real estate developers have their influence and deep pockets there, same as anywhere. Does this equal extremist? Please point out your ideal city as far as sustainability policy and political window dressing goes. Cheers.

  • We were going in the right direction until 1984. From there it has been all down hill.

  • So...which US city has been going up the hill, in your eyes?

  • Portland is a great city

  • @FATWONTON sooo, they should do what stressful, poorly planned areas have done? I doubt the carbon emissions would be at early 90's levels if more lanes were added, which leads to more lanes. It does not solve anything. I have lived here driving my car 500 miles a year...bike and transit. It is not hard at all. Lost weight due ot changing my lifestyle as well. Try it.

  • SUPER LE MILAGE DAVID LE. FACEBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK

  • @bbukfan That's ironic that you call, Portland, overrated, because I think NYC is overrated. It's too big, too crowded and way overpriced.

  • I do really like Portland, but can't trade Seattle for it.

  • @PositiveEFFECTS Wow. That sure is a depressing view you got there.

  • @suckmyjaggon I applaud your efforts to save mother earth, but it's too late...

  • if portland is so great, why the high suicide rate?
