Malaysia's largest park, Taman Negara, covers nearly 4,500 km2 and is the oldest tropical rain forest in the world. It has remained intact for over 130 million years due to its prime location, untouched by the ice ages and away from volcanic activity. One of the main attractions at Taman Negara is the canopy walk which is the longest in the world at 510 meters. Canopy walk is a series of v-shaped rope suspension bridges with a narrow plank upon which to walk. The highest bridge is 45 m above the jungle floor. It is not terribly comfortable here nor is it possible to see much wildlife but, the real incentive to visit Taman Negara is to see the most pristine primary forest on the planet.
