The Brushy Mountain Cycle Club brought back Rollin Round the River for 2009 with an emphasis on family fun. The bike ride charity event took place September 19, 2009 starting in Wilkesboro, NC at the Yadkin River Greenway YMCA trailhead. 166 riders registered for the event with participants of all ages riding. Clowns entertained young and old alike. Riders could choose to ride the Greenway or 10, 20, or 50 mile routes along scenic NC 268. Stops included Blood Creek Overlook and Whippoorwill Academy. More details about the ride can be found at http://www.bmcc.us/rrr.htm
Registered riders received bags full of great treats including DeFeet socks, commemoritve water bottles, coffee mugs, and much more. After the ride, they were treated to a catered meal from Sagebrush Steakhouse with ribs, beans, slaw, rolls, and tea or they could choose Papa John's Pizza.
Two bicycles were given away during the event.
The event was a huge success thanks to the sponsors, volunteers, and participants. The benefits of the ride were donated to the Millers Creek Christian School.
This was a great opportunity for family fun and a lot of kids got to do their first real ride on the road with a sponsored event. Be sure to look for the 2010 Rollin' Round the River next September!
Thanks to everyone.
Great theme music for your video.
